The Festival Mass Choir is directed by Jonathan E. L. Wall and is made up of singers representing high schools and academies from across the country. The Festival Choir has the privilege of performing a wondrous array of music that every year ranges from masterworks and traditional favorites to new and exciting choral literature. This year the Mass Choir will perform the World Premiere of Kim Andre Arnesens' newest work for choir, brass, percussion & organ. In addition to the premier, other repertoire highlights feature the Kyrie from Louis Viernes' Messe Solennelle Op. 16 and A Mighty Fortress by Dan Forrest.
All singers must submit a completed application with their audition to be considered for inclusion into the Festival Choir.The Kyrie is this years audition peice, you will find the link to the music below.
What you need to know:
Each singer must submit a video singing the Kyrie (measure #67- through to the finish) and attach in the application.
The recording must only feature the voice, no piano or background music (headphones may be used).
Proper demonstration of note accuracy, tone quality, proper pronunciation (research Latin diction), use of dynamics and rhythm are expected.
